Tilford Zebras U/12 Boys Coach, Marcus Hardwick, said:
“The Zebras U12 Division 1 played St Alowishus Saturday 12th May 2012.
“The game was played at the St Alowishus, Kingston on a very bitter and cold morning. It was hard to keep the boys warm and focussed on the game. St Alowishus started the game with great determination and continually pushed the ball forward imposing great pressure upon the Zebras defensive line.
“The ground is scheduled for 9/11 aside and its small dimensions did not allow the Zebras forwards to use their speed and normal ability to maximise space. St Alowishus established a two nil lead and their determination to the ball saw them dominate play during the first half.
“The Zebras fought back hard in the second half but even though they maintained greater possession of the ball the boys could not break through a strong St Alowishus defence. The final score was five nil and welcomed by all with players and parents eager to retreat to the warm!”
